Author-in-Hand Book Donations

Our Author-in-Hand program goal is to encourage reading by putting one enrichment book in every student's hand each spring. The program was started in 2005, supplying John M. Marshall Elementary and East Hampton Middle School students with summer reading books. Since then, the program has grown to include Bridgehampton, Wainscott, Sagaponack, Amagansett, Montauk, and Springs schools.

The foundation will be supplying up to 1,600 students with books this spring with an average purchase price of six to eight dollars per book. We are hoping to raise $12,500 to cover the balance of the cost of the books.

In the past, we have had many generous local merchants and civic groups donate the funds to provide our students with a summer reading book. Our donors have helped us purchase thousands of books for students in our community. Since we have expanded to include more students, we need to appropriate more funds to make our Author-in-Hand program a success.

We hope this program is one you will are willing to support.
